2020 dividends

I was looking at my 2020 and 2019 dividends.

2020 dividends were 180 plus dollars higher than 2019.

It was abit surprising but the primary reason was i stocked up on singtel stocks hence thought other companies gave lower dividends, overall it was still up abit.

FIRE

I have some thoughts recently. Due to change of management at my company, staff were either asked to retire or not renewed totally.

There is real fears that my department will be gone. Things change rapidly.

I fear my job will be gone soon. At 37 years of age, my skills are not transferrable. That day will come soon.

To prepare myself for the inevitable, I decided to downgrade from 5 room to 4 room.

Over the past 4 months, we have been actively looking for a 4 room flat below 400k. And we managed to secure an option just last sat.

Now we turned our focus to selling our current flat.

We need not wait for the sale funds to be able to buy the new hdb. 

Hopefully we can get 500k for our flat.

So after doing some calculation, I would be able to reduce my debt from 202k to 140k.

I should be able to fully pay off my loan in 3 years.

I started the morning doing a yearly review of my net worth.

I started this in 2018.

I used my assets - my liabilities = net worth.

My assets include cash, cpf, investments. My liabilities consist of our home loan and car loan.

This year my net worth went up from 141k to 234k.
